New York 1940’s Colored Photographs by Charles Cushman (portfolio)

Grâce au photographe amateur Charles W. Cushman, qui a voyagé intensément aux Etats-Unis de 1938 à 1960, le New York d’antan est désormais disponible en couleurs. Les photos, archivées à l’Indiana University depuis des années, viennent d’être dévoilées et exclusivement autorisées à être publiées sur le site Business Insider. Elles montrent une ville en plein essor, partagée entre un New York de brique et de pierre et celui du futur qui s’annonce ici et là avec la progression constante de l’industrie et des technologies qui vont modifier un skyline et une population cosmopolite encore aujourd’hui en pleine évolution.  A voir absolument !
